ONE NAME, ONE DESIGNER

Positive and Negative. Black and White. Male and Female. All and Nothing. More and Less, Fire and Ice, Flower and Iron… Opposites, meaningless words, paradoxes, contrasts, extremes… At the origin of the world, the conjunction of these elements was always a source of creation, a shock wave, the beginning of a new era… An opening towards the unknown. The birth of a new world.

And an anecdote maps out for us the journey taken by a budding young fashion designer, who, one day, by sheer chance, was wandering the roads of Spain in the region of Guadalajara. There, a pleasing legend told the tale of a girl who died from mourning too much for her lover, mercilessly slain by her own father. Her endless tears crystallized in the shape of a ravishingly beautiful and amazingly translucent flower … Flos Ferri. A name imbued with an extreme duality, a myth in its pure state. Years later, Julien Claes, accessories designer, unveiled his first personal collection in cooperation with a prestigious Belgian leather goods house. Instinctively, he named it Flos Ferri. The Flos Ferri collection will be launched in the early part of 2008. And he is giving us a preview of it today!
